Stock Divi MBT Part 4

The phases below was supposedly for the SRO and can be found on the BDO thread at Finance Manila here. I tried to correlate if this is applicable to the stock dividend and below are my observations.
For further analysis. :)

Phases 1-4 are indicated below.

Phase 1 - Price goes down upon disclosure of 30% stock divi
Phase 2 - Selling continues
Phase 3 - Oversold level indicate buying before ex date
Phase 4 - Increase in price due to buying pressure before ex date
Phase 5?? - Depends on market behavior i.e. QE tapering -> Syria Tension -> No FED Tapering

For comments and suggestions :)

What happened today?

  • Gold $1,323.51
    • B2 Gold @ 2.66 (support at 2.56?)
  • Observations:
    • MVC is top gainer and SGP is top loser
  • Notes:
    • I entered LTG @ 17.90 early in the morning. At closing it was @ 17.04, too bad I entered earlier. I used STS indicator signaling oversold levels however I was not able to gather news related to LTG.
    • Browsing through Miner's thread at FM forum, he mentioned that LTG going down due to poor performance of Tanduay and lock in period from the FOO will be  saleable soon and will add pressure
    • A big red candle at today's trading session.
      • Will I expect some more selling tomorrow? Yes!
      • Will I average down? No, no more buying power.
      • Will I sell? No.
    • Anyway, I expect LTG to be back at 20 levels, just have to be patient. Meanwhile please check stock chart below for entry
    • Also, I have observed that LTG does not spend to much time on oversold territory, I expect it to bounce back on Friday's closing or next week.
    • Update: mixed ang reactions sa forum, may nagsasabi na maliit lang daw epekto ng pagkalugi sa sales, may nagcomment na due for a rebound na, ofcourse dun ako sa rebound, haha, just look into the charts imho :)

What happened today?

Today, I asked Mr. Banker on his thoughts on the upcoming Philex SRO.

Excerpts:

"*As the summary of findings is just too long to reproduce again, one can read my posts on it starting on page 45 of the BDO thread. But very briefly, the common occurrence noted on the MBT/BDO SRO are as follows:
Phase 1: Announcement of SRO: Prices dropped significantly over a number of days. This is because of the usual discount that is announced. This has already happened in the case of PX.
Phase 2: Intervening Period : Price recovers from the initial big drop over some time. Let us see if PX follows this phase too.
Phase 3:Period of Price Decline. This is when the price starts to adjust to the SRO price
Phase 4:Price at ex-date. One can make a good estimate based on fundamentals of the stock."

-Mr. Banker of Surfer's Bags and Mr. Banker's Notes @ FinanceManila

You may find his complete reply here and additional SRO info (w/ regards to BDO) here.

My friend and I were supposed to attend PSE's ETF talk this afternoon, however due to the strict dress code we retreated, haha, I'll just wait if ever COLFin will have their own sort of seminar.

Lessons Learned:

  1. Stock Options, Restricted Stock, Phantom Stock, Stock Appreciation Rights (SARs), and Employee Stock Purchase Plans (ESPPs) (in relation to B2 Gold Stock Options)

Cheers!

"Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful and practical. They see you as clever, gifted or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over it if that trust is ever broken."

Profit is a profit. I ended my weekdays by joining the profit-taking club. I am looking forward for next week's trading.

I visited my dentist this afternoon and she commended me on maintaining proper oral hygiene. Remember, visit your dentist 2x a year. If dentist is single and pretty, maybe 4-5x. hahaha

A lot of things have been going thru my head this past few days and all are business related. I can say there is progress with our plans. To name a few, aquaculture site visit, gastrolith final package layout, printing house for boxes already on the works, gastrolith taste test to relatives and friends and stocks 101.

Long way to go before reaching W. Brown status. hehehe

    Have a good weekend everyone!

    B2 Gold 20130917

    Update on our stock options:
    • Established support at 2.50 broke previous support at 2.66 but still far away from very low support of 1.87 marked last June 28
    • We might expect positive sentiments at the end of the month if we produce the "target" (not budgeted) ounces for the 3Q
    • B2 Gold reacts to the recent gold price action (refer to Fig. 2)
    • @ $1360, while gold price is on range, sentiments were mixed as evident by the volume and the candlesticks, market is anticipating if it could reach resistance @ $1400
    • After breaking $1400, not enough drive to push price further and so gold price went down again pushing back at $1320 where B2 Gold marked its support at 2.50
    • Additional evidence for the downtrend is the crossover of sellers over buyers on the ADX (Directional Movement) plus RSI and MACD indicators

    Stock Divi MBT Part 3

Last time I posted about the upcoming MBT Stock Divi here.

Today, I received the said 30% stock dividend. Yahoo!

Best things in life are free :)

    Observations:
    • Today's price action saw MBT at P86.00 going up +5.20% at 562M value. It was 5th most active traded stock.
    • The additional 30% stocks brought my average price of P111.90 to P86.10. Before this, I was telling myself that my swing trading for MBT became a long term because of the -28% loss and no money to average down.
    • Now, my MBT is enjoying a 0.90% loss on its way going green as bullish candle was observed.
    • If I have averaged down during the sell off last week, I could have gained already.
    • I will wait until signals tell me to sell then use money to continue buying experiments. :)

    Cretaceous BBQ

    best served with beeeeeer!

    History:
Everyone loves barbeque. You and I do. Our family has a recipe which over the years have been praised by people who have tasted it (usually relatives). One instance was I volunteered to bring and cook barbeque on one of my camping activities in UP. My campmates loved the mixture of sweet-salty-spicy taste with a tinge of sourness that penetrates to the bone. Overall it was a good 'pulutan' for a night of bonding session.

The plan of having a resto is on the works. Together with my baklad and gastro partners (now we are 3), we are trying to come up with our own recipes that we think people will patronize. I want my barbeque recipe to be on the menu. And to prove that it belongs, we catered the celebration for Geo + Mining Board Passers onsite. We cooked it and it was well perceived by the audience. It was an ulalam and a beer match for the lasinggeros. The ratings and the comments were fantastic. And it was proven like the slope y = mx+b.

The word Cretaceous popped in my mind while we were marinading. Cretaceous was the period in the Geologic Time Scale where dinosaurs have thrived our lands. At the end of the Cretaceous, they became extinct as a result of different theories such as wipeout from meteorite(Bolide) hitting the earth, active volcanism and disease. But I think, someone cooked and made them pulutan, hahaha, and that is how the Cretaceous BBQ was born.

    Kain tayo!

I wasn't able to post last Friday as IT has blocked the site. I wonder why sometimes I can and sometimes not.

Dead tired from last night's session. Prepared food that was well praised by my colleagues. Relaxed and chilled underwater with a beer on my hand. Stories were made and stories were told. Life will go on and will brave the storms. To you my friend I will listen, and give you a hand if you fall down.
