Money Matters courtesy of pinoyperiodiko.com |
I have been reading blogs ever since but I have no desire to write and pour my thoughts out just like those bloggers. It was until the day that I recognized the need for one in order to have a trading journal. Yes, a trading journal. I recently invested on into the stock market and I want to track down how my money and I progress. Having a trade journal allows you to go back on your trading events and review what you did, good or bad, at that time. But before I proceed with what happened today, I will just run through my “Trading Timeline”:
prior to June 18-. A consultant shared that while still young; investing on stock market is a good idea. I was hesitant since I heard it was risky and could lose a lot of money. However, with the help of a fellow geo and hs frends I decided that I would try it and decrease the risk by learning the trade.
June 18 and 21- I attended COLFinancial’s Basic Stock Market Investing Courses and opened an account for just P5,000.
June 23-I added more to my account and bought my first stocks of AC, BDO and PX. It was followed by EDC, SM and MWC. All of these were from “hulanalysis”. My colleague introduced me to view sites such as Finance Manila, Investopedia and Stock Charts.
July 17-I sold EDC, SM and MWC and profited P1,500 from these three(all were gain). My decision to sell was due to another round of “hulanalysis”. I was working onsite and had no time to do trading during workhours (sad). Thus, I could only see the gains and losses without charts.
Aug 5 –I’m back home sweet home and decided I would take this fieldbreak as an opportunity to study and learn more on stock trading. I watched the Basic Course by Informed Trades at Youtube and definitely I learned a lot. The videos were short but simple and easy to understand for beginners like me.
Aug 9- Since I have learned more about Fundamental and Technical Analysis, I decided to make my own checklist so I can remember all the terms and when to apply. I also started reading blogs from traders viewed at Finance Manila.
Aug 12-Today is the start of my blog not just a trading journal but also a journal about my life, profession and everything that I can think of worth ranting este writing on.
Lessons learned:
1) Read, read and read
2) Research, research and research
3) Learning never stops, and as a scientist you have to do experiments to validate your hypothesis. Therefore in trading, I will trade + apply FA/TA skills I have learned in order to validate if the stock I’m picking is really going up. And I think a series of this will enable me to develop my own style of trading.
